Job Summary
Diagnose functional problems with sheet metal and metal fabricating machinery, then perform maintenance repairs on customer and company equipment. Purchase replacement parts, fabricate miscellaneous components like guards and supports, and refurbish machinery to proper specifications. Clean equipment using pressure washers, steam cleaners, or degreasers while strictly observing safety practices including protective eyewear and hearing gear. Utilize tools safely and efficiently, read manuals and electrical diagrams, and present a professional image to customers as needed. This role requires occasional travel to customer locations, a valid driver's license, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
Required Qualifications
- One year certificate from college or technical school
- six to twelve months related experience and/or training
- equivalent combination of education and experience
- Required to become certified by manufacturer to perform maintenance and repairs to equipment
- Has proven competence in knowledge of tools and overall machinery concepts
- Mechanical repair and maintenance experience in a production environment
- Ability to repair and demonstrate troubleshooting methods in a timely manner
- Understanding, knowledge and experience with machinery equipment
- Must be able to perform routine maintenance and setup of machinery
- Ability to read manuals, electrical diagrams, drawings and interpret a variety of instructions whether in written, oral or diagram form
- Ability to service and perform maintenance on machinery equipment to a high standard
- Basic computer skills
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds
- Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception
- Valid government driver's license
- Acceptable driving record, as determined by company standards and insurer requirements
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle
