Machinery Diagnostics Field Engineer

Job Summary
Machinery Diagnostics Field Engineer responsible for diagnosing machinery problems using vibration and operational data, visiting customer sites for on-site service, producing reports with findings and recommendations, and building trusted advisor relationships to monitor and improve rotating equipment health. Role requires extensive travel, HS&E adherence, and knowledge of vibration analysis, reliability services, and rotating machinery concepts; preferred background includes a bachelor’s degree in engineering and hands-on experience with balancing, alignment, and data interpretation across oil & gas, chemical, and power-generation sectors.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical Engineering a plus)
- Minimum 2 years of industry experience
- Be available for extensive travel (up to 70%) and significant over-time (paid)
- Valid driver’s license and passport (or able to obtain a passport)
- Be eligible to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credential)
- Be eligible to travel overseas and/or work on offshore platforms on occasion
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience reading, interpreting, and understanding mechanical prints
- Knowledge of rotating machinery operation and controls systems
- Knowledge of machinery protection and management systems
- Knowledge of one or more of: mechanical vibration, rotating machinery vibration and/or diagnostics, rotodynamic analysis, PdM data acquisition/evaluation, machinery balancing and alignment
- Knowledge of Bently Nevada products and Cordant services
- Basic familiarity with computer network systems
