Job Summary
Assemble custom, high-value automated machinery, processing systems, and robotic cells from raw frames to fully integrated units. Interpret detailed mechanical blueprints, structural assembly drawings, and fluid power schematics to determine exact tolerances and component layouts. Execute mechanical alignment using precision measuring equipment to connect, shim, and secure complex parts while mounting and routing electrical cables, pneumatic lines, and hydraulic systems. Collaborate with engineering teams to diagnose fit issues, refine clearances, and troubleshoot build roadblocks. Prepare completed automation cells for secure transport and client delivery, occasionally traveling to facility sites for installation and startup support. Maintain a clean, organized assembly bay adhering to quality control benchmarks and 5S workplace standards.
Required Qualifications
- US Citizen or Green Card holder
- Proven Experience as a Machine Tool Technician, Custom Machine Builder, or Precision Mechanical Assembler
- Deep capability reading and executing complex multi-page mechanical assembly prints, submittals, and fluid power schematics
- Hands-on mastery of power/hand tools, precision measuring instruments (micrometers, dial indicators, calipers), and standard machine shop equipment
- High level of detail orientation regarding mechanical fits, sequence adherence, quality control, and safety protocols
- Willingness for occasional travel to support on-site machine installations and field startups
- Reliable, steady work history demonstrating mechanical problem-solving ability
