Job Summary
Perform required preventative maintenance on equipment, adjusting settings to optimize mechanical efficiency and ensure operations meet standard processes. Diagnose and repair machinery using appropriate hand and power tools, electric meters, and volt meters to troubleshoot issues and replace parts as needed. Assist operators with complex job setups, remakes, restarts, and first article checks while communicating essential information regarding incomplete repairs or potential line problems. Participate in developing action plans to resolve issues related to safety, quality, and production efficiency. This role requires a higher mechanical and electrical skill set with at least two years of experience in the print industry. The position works Monday through Thursday from 1:45 pm to 11:45 pm.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of experience in the print industry as a Machine Operator
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience troubleshooting PLC devices, printers and labelers; Pneumatic and hydraulic
- Experience in encoding and imaging including barcode construction
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the company
- Proficient in basic computer operations
- Strong problem solving abilities
- High attention to detail
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and lock-out tag-out procedures
- Flexible and willing to work over-time and/or weekends as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Software Knowledge of Data-Trac and GT preferred
- Software knowledge of CPST, Atlantic Zeiser and Precision Finishing lines
- Shrink-wrap and oven operational knowledge
- Multi feeder and labeler operational knowledge
- Hot melt equipment and operational application knowledge
- Technical Degree and/or five years minimum experience in the print industry as an Operator
