Job Summary
The Machine Technician II is responsible for providing high-quality repair service on equipment, completing assigned jobs to meet metrics, and adhering to safety policies. Key responsibilities include diagnosing and troubleshooting machine problems, removing and installing parts, performing critical machine and engine repairs, and verifying correct operations of repairs. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, with three to five years of related experience, and must be certified in air-conditioning. The role requires a thorough understanding of tools and diagnostic software, and the ability to mentor team members.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Three to five years related experience and/or training
- Successfully complete Work Steps assessment
- Must be certified in air-conditioning
- Must be able to obtain or currently possess adequate tooling to perform duties
- Must be at least 21 to be assigned and operate field vehicle
- May be required to complete DOT physical
- May require MSHA certification
Desired Qualifications
- Flexibility to work various schedules including shift work, required overtime and on call
- Ability to mentor Machine team members
- In depth knowledge of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments, and diagnostic software
Additional Requirements
- This position is considered a safety sensitive position
- Required travel up to 20%
