Job Summary
Create and maintain CNC programs, set up instructions, and update existing CNC programs using the latest CAM software. Document tooling and setup procedures to maximize part-to-part changeovers for operators and machinists. Lead small projects and groups for continuous improvement efforts, including new equipment selection and automation implementation. Assist with material, tooling, and machine selection processes to drive improvements and obtain technology with the latest capabilities. Analyze data to justify process, tooling, or machine changes while communicating effectively with design engineering and inspection personnel. Utilize Excel and ERP software to track consumable items and maintenance frequencies.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree or 2 years of technical training in machine tool technology or a related field
- Experience in programming turning operations which include lathes, multi turret and spindle lathes, and mill turns
- Ability to efficiently utilize CAD (Solidworks) in creation of CAM programs
- Ability to perform complete setup and operation of a wide range of CNC machining centers
- Ability to mentor and lead projects and other group activities
- Ability to analyze data and present summaries to justify process, tooling or machine changes
- Ability to effectively communicate with Design Engineering, Machinists, Machine Operators and Inspection personnel
- Ability to use excel and ERP software to track and monitor consumable items and maintenance frequencies
- Ability to select and implement new machine tools specifically mill turn using automation to run unattended
Desired Qualifications
- MasterCAM Mill experience a plus
- Ability to effectively communicate with Design Engineering, Machinists, Machine Operators and Inspection personnel. Capable of working in a team environment
