Job Summary
Lead CNC machining team in a precision shop on the 2nd shift in Lancaster, PA. Oversight of CNC machinists, operators, and setup personnel to meet production schedules and quality standards. Provide leadership, coaching, and technical guidance to ensure efficient and safe operations; plan and assign work, verify proper machine setups, and ensure tooling/fixtures are available for production runs. Handle troubleshooting of machining issues, tool changes, and program adjustments to minimize downtime; monitor processes to maintain product quality and adherence to specifications. Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve process, tooling, or quality issues; conduct regular team meetings emphasizing safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Maintain accurate production documentation and support Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives. Requires strong CNC programming, setups, tooling, troubleshooting, blueprint/GD&T interpretation, and OSHA safety knowledge; leadership experience with a focus on training and developing shop personnel.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment
- At least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead capacity
- Strong understanding of CNC programming, setups, tooling, and troubleshooting
- Experience with a variety of CNC machines (mills, lathes, multi-axis preferred)
- Leadership skills and ability to motivate, train, and develop team members
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, GD&T, and shop drawings
- Knowledge of safety practices and OSHA regulations in a machine shop environment
