Job Summary
Lead the machine shop team to meet production goals, quality standards, and customer deadlines in aerospace manufacturing. Responsibilities include supervising and coordinating activities for machine shop personnel, collaborating with other departments to meet deadlines, driving production improvements through enhanced methods and equipment performance, interviewing/hiring/training new employees, mentoring staff, managing timecards and HRIS records, maintaining shop efficiency and floor quality, promoting a safe and organized work environment, implementing 5S and Lean Manufacturing practices, maintaining and ordering shop equipment, conducting root cause analysis for defects and driving corrective actions, and performing administrative tasks such as performance reviews and disciplinary actions. Requires a minimum of 5 years of CNC experience, an associate degree or equivalent hands-on experience, ability to read drawings/blueprints, familiarity with quality measuring tools, strong communication, and proven leadership skills.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years CNC equipment operations and programming experience
- Two-year degree in a related field or equivalent hands-on experience
- Proficiency reading engineering drawings/blueprints; understanding tooling and CNC setup
- Hands-on experience with quality inspections using micrometers, bore gauges, calipers, and other measuring tools
- Strong written and verbal communication; proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Proven ability to lead teams, solve problems, and maintain quality standards
