Job Summary
As a Machine Shop Production Supervisor on the 2nd shift, you will lead daily manufacturing operations, develop team members, drive Lean initiatives, and ensure production goals are met safely, efficiently, and to high quality standards. You will lead Team Leads and production employees to meet daily production schedules and customer commitments, conduct shift meetings focused on Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Continuous Improvement (SQCDI), promote a culture of safety, lead root cause investigations, ensure ISO/ITAR compliance, coach and develop staff, support staffing and labor planning, and collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Operations to resolve production issues. You will monitor equipment utilization, maintain cross-training and workforce flexibility, and perform additional duties as assigned. The role requires an Associate Degree in a related technical field, at least 2 years of manufacturing experience, leadership experience, strong communication and analytical skills, proficiency with Excel/PowerPoint, and the ability to read technical documents and drive continuous improvement in a regulated manufacturing environment.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Business Management, Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field required.
- Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience.
- Previous leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication, coaching, and employee development skills.
- Experience with root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies.
- Ability to influence, motivate, and hold teams accountable.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience creating reports, charts, and KPI tracking using Excel.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations and production scheduling.
- Hands-on leadership style with the ability to support technical problem-solving efforts.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, procedures, and safety requirements.
- Customer-focused mindset with strong business acumen.
