Machine Shop Quality Technician

Job Summary
Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections on machined parts to the highest quality standards while interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T callouts, and job specifications. Conduct gage calibration, maintain accurate records in Gage Track software, and audit production quality at every phase of manufacture to document findings clearly. Partner with engineers and machinists on root cause analysis and continuous improvement, developing detailed inspection reports and supporting AS9100 / ISO 9001 compliance and internal audits. Work in a high-mix, low-volume aerospace and defense environment where your eye for detail directly impacts mission-critical products. Day and evening shifts available with medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and PTO benefits.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of quality inspection experience in a machine shop or precision manufacturing environment
- Solid command of standard measurement tools: calipers, micrometers, CMM, height gauges, etc.
- Strong blueprint reading skills including GD&T
- Familiarity with AS9100 / ISO 9001 quality management systems
- Organized, detail-obsessed, and able to manage multiple inspection queues under deadline pressure
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; internal auditing experience is a plus
