Job Summary
Machine Shop Production Supervisor II leads Santa Rosa shop operations, directing daily activities, coordinating with Production Manager, and managing the shop-floor schedule to meet tight deadlines. Oversees first-article inspections to ensure CAD-to-reality tolerance and surface finish; mentors and directs 6+ machinists; applies Lean principles to remove bottlenecks and improve throughput. Enforces safety protocols (PPE, LOTO) per Cal/OSHA and oversees maintenance PM schedules. Manages procurement and inventory of raw materials, tooling, and inserts. Requires hands-on CNC involvement with mills, lathes, and manual machines, along with expert G-code programming and CAD/CAM work. Strong leadership, collaboration with engineering, and communication across teams are essential.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of CNC manufacturing and supervisory experience
- Expert-level proficiency in CNC programming (G-code)
- CAD/CAM software proficiency (Mastercam, Fusion 360)
- Ability to read blueprints and GD&T
- Experience machining stainless steel and food-grade alloys
- Leadership skills with conflict resolution and prioritization
- Strong verbal and written communication, including MS Office and G-Suite
