Machine Shop Manager

Job Summary
Lead and optimize an internal R&D machine shop to enable rapid prototyping for engineering teams, targeting a 48-hour turnaround on prototype parts. Oversee shop operations, ticketing/workflow management, and task delegation; mentor CAM programmers and machinists; enforce safety, 5S organization, and OSHA compliance; manage inventory, tooling procurement, and maintenance, and drive continuous improvement in manufacturability of drawings and GD&T feedback. Requires deep CNC milling/turning expertise, strong CAM knowledge (Mastercam, Fusion 360, HSMWorks), ability to read/critique complex drawings, and proven leadership in a machining environment (preferably in aerospace/robotics). The role is direct-hire and located in Austin, TX.
Required Qualifications
- 7-10+ years hands-on experience in precision machining, CNC programming, and fabrication
- 3-5+ years in a leadership, management, or shop foreman role
- Proven experience in an R&D, rapid prototyping, or aerospace/robotics environment (highly preferred)
- Degree, technical diploma, or equivalent journeyman certification in Machining, Manufacturing Technology, or Mechanical Engineering is a plus
