Job Summary
Oversee machine shop operations across Susan St/Warner and Alton facilities by planning, scheduling, and managing all production activities to meet performance, productivity, and quality goals. Direct programmers, machinists, and craftsmen to create efficient processes that reduce set-ups, scrap, and tooling costs while increasing throughput. Evaluate planned production, make necessary changes to achieve departmental KPIs, and ensure timely delivery by communicating potential problems or overtime needs. Perform root-cause analysis on equipment, tooling, and processes to resolve non-conformances, adjust controls, and implement continuous improvements in CNC machining operations. Maintain a safe work environment, enforce policies, and drive capital equipment recommendations to maximize equipment utilization.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in a leadership role within a Machine Shop or Die Shop environment
- Must have experience with 3- & 4-axis CNC Mill & 2-axis Lathe set-up and programming
- Must have experience with Haas & Okuma mills
- Must have experience with Mazak lathe
- Must be able to effectively communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Must have experience in all aspects of product machining, including industrialized equipment, and technologies
- Advanced Blueprint Reading
- In compliance with ITAR regulations, must be a US Citizen or US Person
Desired Qualifications
- Aerospace experience preferred
- LEAN conceptual training preferred
