Job Summary
Lead daily shop floor activities, prioritize work assignments, and troubleshoot machining, setup, tooling, fixture, and equipment issues to minimize downtime. Support production scheduling, monitor workflow, and communicate staffing or production concerns to management while serving as a resource for team members on processes, equipment, and quality standards. Assist with onboarding, training, and resolving production issues, promoting safe work practices and compliance with all safety requirements. Foster teamwork, accountability, and positive employee relations while coordinating with other departments to meet operational needs. Support continuous improvement initiatives including Lean Manufacturing, 5S, waste reduction, and process improvement activities.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Working knowledge of machining equipment, tooling, and inspection methods
- Experience with milling equipment and machine shop practices
- Demonstrated technical knowledge of machine shop operations
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience serving as a lead, trainer, mentor, or informal team leader
- Ability to lead and influence others without direct authority
- Basic computer proficiency
