Job Summary
Machine Shop Engineer needed in Duxford, UK to maintain and promote a safe working environment within the machine shops, service and calibrate equipment, serve as trainer and key contact for machine shop equipment, coordinate repairs, procure fixtures and components, identify and validate new equipment, coordinate capex documentation, manage commissioning of new equipment, and perform routine and specialist machining of FRP composite materials in compliance with relevant requirements. The role supports 5S, LEAN, and continuous improvement initiatives, and requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team with strong technical comprehension and clear communication.
Required Qualifications
- Experience machining FRP composite materials
- Ability to use technologies associated with machine shop activities
- Technical comprehension to understand written instructions and specifications and interpret drawings
- Hands-on approach to machine shop work with attention to detail
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and as a team member
- Ability to command the personal respect and confidence of colleagues
- Eligible to work in the country where the position is based (United Kingdom)
