Job Summary
Maintain acceptable setup standards by transferring programs to CNC controls and installing work holding devices per layout. Provide cycle time corrections, set up machines for other workers, and instruct operators on proper operation. Complete daily maintenance, adhere to 5S standards, and communicate work status while following all policies. Gather process information to report improvements to management. Requires proven CNC setup experience, advanced blueprint reading with GD&T, and shop math skills. Must stand for 10-hour shifts, lift up to 50lbs, and work with oils/coolants in a noisy environment.
Required Qualifications
- A proven track record in operation and setup of CNC machines
- Must be able to adjust tools and other machine components
- Must be able to adjust the position of work piece or material
- Must be able to set controls
- Must be able to verify accuracy of machine capabilities
- Must be able to know properties of materials
- Must be able to know shop practices
- Must be able to use tools, equipment, and work aids, such as precision gauges and measuring instruments
- Must be able to make decisions using the principles of logic
- Must be able to use knowledge and skills acquired through experience and training
- Must be able to gather information on job processes
- Must be able to report back to management with process improvements
- Shop math (i.e. add, subtract, multiply, divide, fractions, decimals, percentages)
- Must possess advanced blueprint reading skills
- Must possess GD&T skills
- Lifting up to 50lbs
- Must be able to bend
- Must be able to twist
- Must be able to crouch
- Must be able to stand for 10 hour work shift
- Must be able to work with oils/coolants
