Job Summary
Set up all tooling for machines, programs, and run operations while performing your own quality checks. Provide assistance to machine operators on new job development and program CNC machines. Operate Tool Room equipment including horizontal and vertical hones, grinders, and polishing stations with limited supervision. Read manufacturing prints, select necessary tools, and utilize inspection equipment such as micrometers and calipers to meet tolerances. Maintain work area cleanliness and follow safety guidelines while performing preventative maintenance. Ensure first time quality and on-time delivery of changeover components to headers.
Required Qualifications
- Mechanically inclined
- Shop classes or manufacturing process training
- Basic computer skills using Google Workspace (sheets, docs, drive, chat, Gmail, etc.)
- Solid math skills
- Basic problem solving skills
- Ability to identify routine problem causation and correct routine problems
- Willingness to learn new areas of the business
- Ability to operate Tool Room equipment with limited supervision to meet necessary quality and productivity requirements
- Ability to read most manufacturing and tooling prints
- Knowledge of tools to perform turning, milling, drilling, and boring
- Responsible for own inspection of tooling
- Strong Mathematical and problem solving skills
- Positive attitude and desire to continuous improvement
- Mechanically inclined individual
