Job Summary
Develop, lead, and implement programs, systems, and equipment upgrades that improve machine safety and operational effectiveness. Monitor machine and equipment performance to troubleshoot safety-related issues, while analyzing trends and historical data to recommend improvements for maximizing safety and minimizing life cycle costs. Identify and advocate for best practices in machine safety system design, operation, and maintenance, ensuring adherence to national and international standards. Provide technical guidance and oversight to project teams during procurement, fabrication, and installation phases to verify consistent compliance. Support the creation and continual improvement of corporate engineering standards for machine safety and mechanical design. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve critical business issues, including equipment failures and manufacturing limitations, with occasional travel within the Asia Pacific region.
Required Qualifications
- BS or MS in Engineering or related field
- minimum of 7 years' experience primarily in plant technical support or design of equipment and systems
- Strong background in machine safety evaluations, design, and assessments
- Proficiency in engineering documentation
- familiarity with capital project execution
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and RAGAGEPs (e.g., ANSI, ISO, EN Standards)
- Able to travel occasionally within the Asia Pacific region to support project needs (up to 50% of time)
- In-depth understanding of the S1M Machine Safety Management Program
- Local and International Machine Safety Standards
- Must be fluent in writing and speaking both English and Chinese
- Location must be in China
