Machine Parts Inspector II

Job Summary
The Machine Parts Inspector II is responsible for detailed inspections of precision and complex machined parts, including castings and fabricated sheet metal. This role involves verifying materials and processes, completing paperwork per AS9100 standards, and performing various quality tasks to ensure timely delivery. Inspectors must have extensive experience, be proficient with blueprints, and know inspection techniques, including manual CMM operation. Key skills include the ability to document results accurately and the understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 6 years mechanical inspection and/or machining experience
- Ability to perform complex set-ups for part inspection
- Proficient with complicated blueprints and advanced job shop mathematical calculations
- Familiar with all facets of inspection techniques, including manual CMM operation, a wide range of inspection and measuring tools, and surface plate set-ups
- Strong organizational skills and familiarity with requirements of an AS9100 based quality management system
- Thorough understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing per ANSI Y14.5
- Must be able to follow written instructions and to work with little to no supervision
- Basic computer skills

- US Citizenship with the ability to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance
