Job Summary
Machine Operator - 1st Shift Full Time at Tyson Foods' Newbern, TN plant. Responsible for learning how to maintain sharp tools to perform job tasks, and for making precision cuts to carcass to allow for correct further processing and to remove hide as needed to achieve desired carcass yield. Operates a powered tool and upholds safety and food safety policies. Average training time may require 2-3 months. Responsibilities include setting up equipment, operating a hide puller to remove hide from carcasses, and re-pulling hides as needed. The position requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work in temperatures around 35°F, and stand/walk for long periods. Shift is 1st shift with potential for overtime; background checks may apply. Required Qualifications
- Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds
- Must be willing and able to perform the following task for periods of 8 hours on concrete floor
- Must be willing and able to work in temperatures less than or equal to 35 degrees Fahrenheit for minimum of 8 hours
- Must be willing and able to work cycles in less than 30 seconds
- Must be willing and able to work in a wet environment
- Must have 6 MThs continuous employment in the last 18 months
