Job Summary
Set up production machines according to work instructions, specifications, and production schedules. Operate machinery safely and efficiently, monitoring performance and making basic adjustments as needed. Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks, such as lubrication, inspection, and minor part replacements. Conduct regular cleaning of machines and surrounding work areas to maintain a safe, compliant environment. Inspect products visually and with basic measuring tools to ensure they meet quality standards. Identify and report equipment issues, abnormalities, or safety concerns to supervisors. Complete required production and equipment logs accurately. Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout practices, and standard operating procedures. Required Qualifications
- Proven experience operating production or manufacturing machinery in an industrial environment
- Demonstrated ability to set up machines using established procedures and guidelines
- Basic mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand how machine components interact
- Ability to perform routine preventive maintenance and cleaning tasks on equipment
- Comfortable reading and following work instructions, production orders, and basic diagrams
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and safety
- Ability to stand for extended periods and handle physical tasks, including lifting within reasonable limits
- Willingness to work assigned shifts, including possible overtime as production demands
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a high-volume manufacturing or production setting
- Familiarity with basic hand tools and measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, gauges, tape measures)
- Exposure to lean manufacturing, 5S, or similar continuous improvement practices
- Prior experience performing basic troubleshooting on mechanical equipment
- Formal training or coursework in manufacturing, industrial technology, or a related field
- Safety-related training or certifications (e.g., OSHA, lockout/tagout)
