Job Summary
Operate food production machines under supervision, performing basic assembly, disassembly, and minor adjustments. Monitor operations to detect defects or malfunctions, ensuring proper product filling and feeding to conveyors. Clean and sanitize machinery parts and work areas according to GMP guidelines after each run. Read specifications for material requirements and set up machines, while filling out daily production reports. Maintain an organized and safe work environment, following all safety rules. May assist with yearly inventory and work in other production departments as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- one to two years related experience and/or training
- equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers
- Ability to print and speak simple sentences
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- Ability to regularly stand
- Ability to regularly walk
- Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel
- Ability to reach with hands and arms
- Ability to frequently climb or balance
- Ability to occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Ability to occasionally be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals
- Ability to tolerate a loud noise level in the work environment
- Ability to be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts
- Ability to be regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles
- Ability to be at risk of electrical shock
