Job Summary
Set up and operate grinding machines to grind diameter surfaces on metal objects to specifications. Responsibilities include maintaining part flow, reading blueprints, observing operations, making size adjustments, and performing preventive maintenance. Must be qualified as a Grind Operator and capable of troubleshooting and repairing equipment. The role requires the ability to lift heavy items and perform daily inspections. A high school diploma or GED is required along with one to three months of related experience.
Required Qualifications
- Grind Operator qualified
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
