Job Summary
Machine Operator for Press Room at South Plant focused on Lean manufacturing to reduce waste, inventory, and defects. Responsible for operating presses, setting up and changing over machines, using hand tools, monitoring equipment, performing routine maintenance, conducting quality checks, moving finished product to support production flow, and maintaining 5S practices to keep a clean workstation. Requires ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work overtime as scheduled.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to operate all required presses
- Set up and changeover of all required machines
- Operating various hand tools
- Monitor machines to ensure proper operation and perform routine maintenance and cleanup of machines
- Perform quality audit checks as required by standard work
- Move finished product to aid in flow of production
- Maintain a clean and orderly work station by applying the principals of 5S
- General knowledge of production methods and machinery
- Ability to push, pull or lift up to 50lbs
- Able to stand continually for shift duration while working on certain machines
- Ability to work overtime when scheduled
- Ability to work safely to ensure the safety of yourself and those working around you
