Job Summary
Maintain, service, and perform repairs on production equipment and electrical systems to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient operations. Read manufacturers' manuals, preventative maintenance task sheets, and safety policies to perform adjustments, repairs, and emergency breakdowns during production and non-production hours. Monitor equipment performance to identify potential problems and inform supervisors, while maintaining logbooks to calibrate machinery. Provide hands-on training to lower-level mechanics and techs, keep equipment clean throughout and after shifts, and adhere to OSHA Lockout/Tagout regulations. Work Monday through Friday from 6:00am to 5:00pm in an active plant environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School or equivalent
- 2 - 4 years of experience
- Reading, writing and analytical skills
- Must always have personal tools
- Ability to use and operate hand tools
- Ability to use and operate industrial shop equipment
- Ability to move throughout the complex and all facilities
- Ability to move equipment occasionally
- Ability to access files, supplies and equipment
- Ability to work in wet and moist floors with metal and plastic grating surfaces
- Ability to work in temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity
- Ability to handle products from 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit
- Ability to work in noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db
- Ability to be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, and a processing facility
- Ability to wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company
