Job Summary
Operate multiple balers to bale metals while safely managing hi-lo, loader, forklift, and sweeper equipment for loading, unloading, grading, and transporting materials. Perform required maintenance on motors, gearboxes, augers, pulleys, and conveyors; troubleshoot mechanical issues and notify management of malfunctions. Distinguish material grades using identification tests and prepare various documents and reports. Maintain and protect all entrusted property in excellent condition. Work Monday through Friday from 4:00pm to 2:30am inside the plant, wearing required PPE including hard hats, safety glasses, high-vis, steel-toed shoes, and gloves.
Required Qualifications
- Hilo experience
- Equipment operation and preventative maintenance knowledge (conveyors, pulleys, etc)
- Good interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast pace environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Accuracy in operation and attention to detail
- Monday - Friday schedule
- 4:00pm - 2:30am shift
- Inside plant environment
- PPE requirements (hard hat, safety glasses, high vis, steel toed shoes, gloves)
- Temperature regulation challenges (hot or cold depending on weather outside)
Desired Qualifications
- Six months operating small equipment experience preferred (hilo, loader, forklift, scissor lift)
- Loader operator experience preferred
- Mechanical experience
