Job Summary
Machine Operator / Packer at Amcor responsible for operating extrusion equipment, winder operation, and packaging finished product. Perform quality checks using micrometer and tape measure, adjust line speed and winder settings to meet customer specifications, record production data, and ensure safety and cleanliness of the work area. Follow safety and BRC guidelines, read and interpret travelers/order forms, and communicate with supervisors. Must be able to operate pallet jack, read tape measures, and maintain accurate documentation; expected to work in a fast-paced production environment and participate in safety programs. The role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to quality standards, and supporting packaging and palletizing operations throughout production shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, order forms, travelers and checklists
- Ability to speak effectively with Managers, co-workers or before groups of co-workers, Supervisors or others within the company
- Able to operate a pallet jack
- Possess basic math skills
- Able to read tape measure or ruler to perform quality checks and transfer to documents
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
- Must possess good judgment, planning and organizational skills
- Must be able to obtain forklift certification
