Job Summary
Operate various bag machines to produce high-quality shopping, merchandise, and grocery bags while adhering to all safety rules and procedures including PPE and EHS protocols. Continuously monitor machinery for starting, stopping, and adjustments; strip rolls, change rolls, make hand splices, and thread paper smoothly. Perform quality checks on bags for defects, maintain ink levels and clean ink pans, and clean or repair machines as needed. Submit accurate daily production reports and meet safety, quality, and housekeeping goals set by management.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or applicable work experience
- Experience working in a warehouse environment
- Reading, writing and basic math skills
- Must be able to problem-solve to make sure that minor adjustments made to machinery are correct
- Must be able to effectively communicate with other employees and management
- Must have good eyesight (no colorblindness) to spot flaws in color comparison, print set-up, etc. as bags or film come off the production line
