Job Summary

Operate extrusion lines to produce vinyl siding and accessories, ensuring outputs meet specifications and quality standards. Visually inspect finished product for defects, conduct functional feature tests, and notify supervisors of issues. Assemble and pack cartons, manage fixture changes, and perform line shutdowns while maintaining equipment settings. Troubleshoot operational problems, adjust machinery, and assist with color and product changeovers. Complete pre-start checks, perform housekeeping duties, and accurately record all packaging and quality assurance paperwork. Monitor line performance to manage good pounds versus salvage ratios and communicate product status across shifts.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age to apply
  • Must be able to read, write and have working knowledge of machine mechanics
  • Must have good mechanical and mathematical aptitude
  • Must possess common sense, positive attitude, and demonstrate excellent attendance

  • Must be able to work 7:00 PM-7:00 AM on a 2-2-3 Schedule
  • Must be available for night shift

  • Must be able to bend, lift, pull, push, reach, twist and walk frequently

  • Must be able to ensure proper packing patterns, product counts, and package enclosures
  • Must be able to square, glue, seal and label the packed cartons
  • Must be able to transfer carton to finished product skid
  • Must be able to discard unacceptable panels in Scrap Rack
  • Must be able to identify product that is jammed up in production line
  • Must be able to identify that line is going down
  • Must be able to assist with color and product fixture changes
  • Must be able to perform line shut down tasks
  • Must be able to communicate with previous and following shifts' Extrusion Associates about product quality, problems, and status of work in progress
  • Must be able to perform housekeeping duties as needed such as cleaning up of knock-out build up in MRF cutter
  • Must be able to notify Extrusion Associate 3 or 4 (Operators) of colored light alarm from Ink Jet Printer
  • Must be able to verify operational status of all equipment on assigned line according to start-up check list
  • Must be able to assist with extrusion lines
  • Must be able to engage in and promote teamwork within work group
