Job Summary
Set up assigned machines to meet daily production goals and coordinate product changeovers for maximum line efficiency. Monitor running materials to ensure quality and production standards, reporting problems to the line operator promptly. Participate in 5 Why analysis to solve issues and minimize downtime, while performing simple preventative maintenance tasks like inspection, lubrication, and basic repair. Conduct visual inspections of materials and products, including taste testing for daily quality audits, and ensure all health, safety, and lockout/tagout procedures are followed. Administer duties by recording production quantities, job orders, and downtime on work orders and computer systems, communicating material stock availability to meet requirements. Maintain accurate machine logs to identify trends and communicate consistent issues to supervisors, attending daily and weekly technical meetings to discuss productivity and safety resolutions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- The ability to demonstrate strong operating knowledge of manufacturing equipment
- Basic mechanical skills
- Basic Computer Skills (windows-based software)
- Basic written and effective communication skills
- Ability to take direction and execute in a fast-paced environment
- Technical skills as it relates to machinery, and ability to troubleshoot
- Understand Total Productive Management to include Autonomous Management, Preventative Maintenance & Safety and be able to perform basic maintenance on the machine to include inspection, lubrication, and basic repair
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
- frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
- occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and reach with arms
- Demonstrated hand/eye coordination
- Flexibility to meet rotational shift changes, as required
- Weekend work, as required
