Job Summary
Set up and operate a multi-unit pocket press on the Longford line, coordinating with the Supervisor to meet customer specifications and internal deadlines. Examine job orders for quantities, stock, colors, and special instructions, then verify foil specifications before initiating make-readies and instructing team members. Perform general maintenance, determine first save copies, and collect random samples to identify necessary adjustments. Monitor quality standards throughout the run, ensure correct proofs are available, and generate waste reports while maintaining acceptable waste ranges. Direct team members on maintenance tasks and pack quality, ensuring all safety mechanisms are functional and reporting deficiencies immediately. Engage in required meetings, training, and shift assignments as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Basic Computer skills related to Longford operations
- Basic Math skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to read and understand written instructions and set-up the press to carry out instructions
- Ability to problem-solve issues related to the machine operations
- Understanding of quality systems and how they relate to customer expectations
- Must be able to meet stringent deadlines
- Must be organized and can plan, prioritize and follow through on projects assigned with minimal supervision required
- Must be able to interact and cooperate with team members and show an enthusiastic/positive attitude
- Must have ability to communicate (verbal/written) with team members and supervisors
- Must be flexible in job shift assignments according to job schedules, work overtime when required, and be able to cover other shifts when needed
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
