Job Summary

Operate a variety of machines to produce precision parts using tools such as lathes, milling machines, or grinders. Inspect parts and measure completed units with precision instruments to verify conformity and detect defects. Monitor feed and speed during machining, review environmental information to assess problems, and inspect equipment to identify error causes. Set up and adjust machine tools, align fixtures, and perform routine maintenance. Identify non-conforming items and provide corrective action while applying mathematical principles to solve production problems. Requires minimum 2 years experience in a job shop environment and knowledge of brass alloys. Full-time role with a hiring range of $17.40 - $23.65 USD.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years experience as a machine operator
  • Background working in a job shop environment
  • Knowledge of Watch gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly
  • Use mathematics to solve problems
  • Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance
  • Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed
  • Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and basic maintenance
  • Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
  • Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools in order to perform precision machining operations
  • Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines
  • Experience working with brass alloys
  • Ability to identify non-conforming items and provide corrective action
