Job Summary
Machine Operator - Level 3 responsible for executing set-ups and operating machining equipment safely and efficiently, performing start-stop procedures, tooling/fixture changes, recording data, inspecting parts to quality standards, cleaning and maintaining equipment, and reporting malfunctions; requires a high school diploma or equivalent, about 2.5 years of machining experience, and Level 2 qualification with advanced knowledge of metal/plastic cutting processes; strong troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork required; shift is 1st and involves standing, bending, and walking.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 30 months (about 2 and a half years) of applicable machining experience
- Internal: Must be fully qualified as a Level 2 Machine Operator
- Advanced knowledge about metal or plastic cutting processes and equipment
- Self-motivated and able to learn at a fast pace
- Demonstrates proficient machining, communication, and troubleshooting
- Operate machine: loading and unloading parts, inspection gauges, comparator, micrometers, calipers, 6” rule, dial indicator, ring gauges, drill/reamer, Johnson gauges and Datum gauges, magnifier and lights, miscellaneous hand tools and chip strippers
- Identifies and corrects machining problems relative to tools and tool holders, collets and chucks
- Perform daily, semi-annual and annual machine maintenance
- Correct problems in set-up, non-conformance, tooling and machining processes
- Make suggestions for process changes that may improve machining operations
