MACHINE OPERATOR

Job Summary
Operate equipment to process and manufacture livestock feeds on the 2nd shift (1:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.) at the Altoona, IA plant. Responsibilities include daily operation of feed production equipment (bagger, sewing machine, forklift), following warehouse and loading protocols, ensuring quality assurance per cGMP, HACCP, and FSMA, recording production data, assisting with production scheduling and inventory control, helping with equipment maintenance, loading/unloading trucks, and maintaining a safe, team-oriented work environment. Requires strong work ethic, customer-focused attitude, ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and customers, and ability to work in varying conditions including dust and adverse weather.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- 1+ years manufacturing experience
- Mechanical aptitude preferred
- Basic computer knowledge
- Good communication skills (verbal, written, math)
- Ability to work as a team member
- Knowledge of cGMP’s, OSHA safety requirements, HACCP Feed & Safety Plan, and FSMA
- Ability to lift a minimum of 55 lbs.
- Ability to operate a forklift
- Ability to work in dust and adverse weather conditions and temperatures
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check
