Job Summary
Set up, operate, and monitor production machinery including CNC equipment, press brakes, and saws to fabricate steel components to spec. Inspect parts against drawings and tolerances throughout the run, catching defects early and adjusting machines as needed. Load, unload, and stage raw steel and finished components safely using overhead cranes or forklifts. Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and basic maintenance on assigned equipment, flagging mechanical issues before downtime occurs. Follow all safety protocols and OSHA standards while working in a non-climate-controlled shop environment. Complete production logs, quality checks, and downtime tracking accurately. Work closely with team members to maintain production schedules and communicate delays to leads. Monday–Friday, 5:00 AM–3:30 PM, with rotating extended hours available for extra pay.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of related work experience
- Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled shop environment
- Ability to read basic blueprints, work orders, or production specs
- Basic math and measurement skills
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- Ability to work as part of a team and take directions from shop leads and supervisors
- OSHA 10 certification
- Ability to stand, bend, and move for the duration of a shift
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly
- Use of required PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, steel-toe boots, etc.)
- Comfortable working around heavy machinery and material handling equipment
Desired Qualifications
- 3+ years of related work experience
- Press brake, industrial saw, fabrication, or other production/line facility experience
- Experience with equipment such as CNC machines, punches, shears, or comparable industrial machinery
- Willingness to cross-train on new equipment types
- Experienced machine operators without steel fabrication experience but with production-line machine operation background (manufacturing, packaging, automotive, sheet metal, plastics, etc.)
- Forklift or overhead crane experience
