Job Summary
Set up, operate, and monitor production machines while performing preventive maintenance and troubleshooting breakdowns. Control machine settings, adjust tools, and inspect parts to specifications using blueprints and cut lists. Execute pre-operation checks, maintain detailed activity logs, and communicate with team members to ensure safety and quality. Use hand tools, cranes, and forklifts safely while keeping the work area clean. Requires high school diploma, 2+ years in heavy equipment manufacturing, and basic blueprint reading skills.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- 2+ years of Heavy equipment manufacturing
- Must have good written and oral communication skills
- Must have good troubleshooting skills, be able to maintain quality, and diagnose cutting problems
- Must follow all Astec, Inc. safety rules and requirements
- Must follow all company policy requirements
Desired Qualifications
- Relevant trade school or college course work
- Blueprint reading skills
- Computer experience, particularly the ability to use a mouse, and locate and open/close files
