Job Summary
Conduct dimensional inspection of products, monitor and change cutting tools, and load/unload materials while maintaining correct orientation. Enter commands into computer memory to build source files, adjust feed rates and speeds for numerical-control machine operation, and modify programs on the plant floor. Review shop orders and drawings to determine job specifications, calculate machine controlling criteria, and generate part programs that meet production objectives for optimum cost, quality, and throughput. Utilize resources to perform CNC functions safely, organize work assignments for efficient operations, and foresee relevant changes in the area of responsibility.
