Machine Operator II, 1st Shift

Job Summary
Sets up and operates CNC and conventional machines (lathes, grinders, mills, drills) to machine complex metallic parts to exact customer tolerances. Responsibilities include setting up and adjusting fixtures and tooling offsets, following work instructions and process sheets, measuring with micrometers, calipers, and CMMs to ensure conformance to specifications, interpreting gear charts and blueprints, troubleshooting machine malfunctions, maintaining quality within SPC limits, performing routine maintenance, and adhering to safety and 5S standards. Works to daily production goals and supports the department as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- 6 months related experience preferred
- Ability to read and interpret gear charts
- Basic math skills (fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions, geometry, trig) a plus
- Ability to use measuring instruments (calipers, height gauge, scales, micrometers)
- Basic computer skills
