Job Summary
Check the schedule to determine ingredients and amounts needed for the shift, then prepare scales and select specified ingredients for the dough mixture. Accurately weigh each ingredient per specified formulas, sift lumpy ingredients as needed, and place them in designated bags with recorded lot numbers. Record shift, ingredients, and initials on bags, then move bags weighing up to 100 lbs. on carts. Sweep, clean, and mop the work area; clean barrel carts and wash utensils. Communicate changes and instructions to co-workers on the next shift, maintain harmonious relations with all departments, and comply with Good Manufacturing Practices and safety regulations. Work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Zero - One year experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in the baking industry
- Basic math and reading skills
- Ability to measure and read scales and thermometers
- Ability to work safely on any shift (8-12 hours/day), weekends and overtime
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and independently at times
- Ability to distinguish colors
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in various units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimal
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram and schedule form
- Ability to work well with others in stressful situations and meet deadlines as necessary
