Job Summary
Operate mixing machine controls to combine ingredients per designated formulas and instructions. Place raw ingredients into the mixer, accurately weigh components using scales and thermometers, and record lot numbers and usage on mix sheets. Visually identify product quality before and after mixing, removing unacceptable items and placing product or scrap into color-coded containers. Perform required housekeeping including scraping, sweeping, and mopping floors to maintain clean work areas. Communicate mix sheet changes, instructions, and problems to co-workers and supervisors while maintaining harmonious relations across all departments. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices and safety regulations throughout the shift.
Required Qualifications
- Prefer high school graduate or G.E.D.
- Good eye/hand coordination and manual dexterity
- Basic math and reading skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and at times independently
- Ability to measure and read scales and thermometers; understands units of measurement
- Ability to read and follow detailed instructions
