Job Summary
Machine Operator I on 2nd Shift at Vollrath (Dane, WI) operates molding equipment and assembly processes to produce, assemble, and package products to specification. Responsible for maintaining accurate production records and quality inspection reports, inspecting parts for defects, and reporting quality issues. Supports onboarding and training of new employees on equipment operation and standard work procedures. Maintains a clean, organized workspace in high-traffic areas, and performs other duties to support team and organizational goals. Requires reading and interpreting prints/work orders, familiarity with tooling and materials, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand 8–10 hours, and adhere to safety policies including PPE and LOTO where applicable.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrates the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Experience operating injection molding machines (preferred).
- Ability to read and interpret prints, work orders, and related documentation to complete production records and follow work instructions accurately.
- Ability to work with a variety of tools and materials applicable to the position.
- Lifting & Carrying: ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs frequently.
- Stamina & Positioning: stand for 8–10 hours; walk, crawl, climb ladders, or work in confined spaces.
- Manual Dexterity: precise hand-eye coordination; operation of heavy machinery.
- Safety: follow all safety policies; PPE: wear safety-toed shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection; may require additional PPE.
- Equipment Certification: obtain/maintain forklift, powered pallet jack, hoist/crane operation certifications; adhere to LOTO and hazardous material handling protocols.
- Environmental Awareness: work in non-climate-controlled environments and near moving parts; temperature variations.
