Job Summary
Machine Operator for Glass Shop at Builders FirstSource. Operates specialized woodworking and millwork machinery (e.g., door/router, stair router, table saws, planer, jointer, shapers) to perform routing, boring, sawing, cross-cutting, beveling, grooving, and mitering of lumber/wood stock. Responsibilities include selecting and setting machine controls, choosing proper material, feeding stock against guides, measuring dimensions against specifications, starting machines to cut/route/bores, labeling finished stock, delivering completed work, maintaining production counts, preparing cut inventory for future use, and cleaning equipment and work areas per safety procedures. Equipment list includes Air nail gun, various routers and saws, forklift, and related hand/tools. Education requirement is a High School diploma or GED, with 1 year of related experience or training; may require CDL A/B and Forklift Certification. Physical demands include lifting up to 100 pounds and ability to work in a loud environment. Equal Opportunity Employer. Benefits offered. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; 1 year prior experience and/or training in related millwork, construction or lumber industries; 6 months prior experience on machines; good mechanical aptitude; understanding of products used for mill production; attention to quality, quantity and safety; CDL A or B may be required; Forklift Certification may be required.
