Job Summary
Operate roll forming and fabricating machines, including die cut-off presses, to produce quality products meeting customer specifications and production book standards. Changeover and adjust multiple profiles efficiently, setting stops and guides to specified lengths while maintaining part quality consistent with drawings. Perform minor machine maintenance such as oiling dies and measure product dimensions to ensure accuracy. Assist in training new operators, provide process improvement suggestions, and reinforce 6s standards for organization and cleanliness. Work an 8-to-10-hour shift standing and walking, lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally, while adhering to safety procedures and wearing required protective gear. Requires trade school or high school diploma with one to three years of roll craft experience and a forklift license.
Required Qualifications
- Trade School or High school diploma
- 1 year to 3 years of work-related experience at Quality Aluminum Products or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Roll craft
- Roll form
- basic FMA
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, or decimals
- Ability to read, write and speak basic English
- Ability to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to fill out production reports
- Ability to follow production schedules
- Must have the ability use hands to handle, lift, grab, pull or feel
- Must have the ability reach with hands and arms
- Must regularly lift and /or move up to 35 pounds
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
- Must have the ability to stand and walk for most of the 8-to-10-hour shift
- Must be regularly exposed to moving forklifts and pallets
- Must be occasionally exposed to hot or cold conditions
- Must use hearing protections
- Must wear steel toed shoes
- Must wear protective eyewear at all times in the plant
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship, now or in the future
Desired Qualifications
- May be asked to have a Forklift License to facilitate production
- Ability to be certified as a crane operator
- Ability to be certified as a power lock out procedures mastered
