Job Summary

Operate and maintain a Buffer Truck and support road-marking operations (center, edge, and lane lines) on highways and rural BC roads. Follow directions from the Operations Manager and Crew Foreman, conduct routine vehicle inspections, monitor vehicle condition and fuel usage, and report safety or mechanical issues. Assist with Paint Truck loading and painting tasks; set up signs and cones, flag traffic, and position the Buffer Truck to support pre-lining and layout activities. Maintain awareness of traffic conditions, communicate irregularities in line dimensions or alignment, and ensure safety and compliance with Laf rentz safety programs. Travel throughout British Columbia as required; demonstrate strong teamwork, communication, and adherence to safety standards; participate in pre-trip/post-trip inspections and related reporting.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with air endorsement
  • Current 5-year commercial driver’s abstract
  • Six-inch steel-toed safety boots
  • Willingness to work overtime
  • Ability to travel throughout British Columbia as required
  • Willingness and ability to travel throughout British Columbia as required
  • Must meet all safety requirements including pre-employment fit and drug/alcohol testing
  • Pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspection reporting as per safety procedures
