Job Summary
Machine Operator for Dayshift at Arcosa Specialty Materials in Carson City, NV. Responsible for operating and maintaining equipment in an aggregate manufacturing environment in compliance with MSHA safety standards. Performs warehouse duties including forklift operation and assisting or operating production machinery (Dish/Pan, Roller Mill, Packaging) to produce prilled product for the fertilizer industry. Tasks include equipment inspections, observing and monitoring production, cleaning and maintaining equipment, completing maintenance orders, recording production data, collecting and testing material samples to ensure specifications, transferring materials between work areas, and collaborating with other departments. Requires ability to stand and work in varied outdoor conditions, and willingness to attend safety meetings; prior experience in warehouse/manufacturing and forklift/loader experience is preferred. Physical requirements include climbing and working at heights up to 60 feet and handling tools, with basic math and calculator skills.
Required Qualifications
- 1 year experience in warehouse/manufacturing or similar environment, preferred
- Forklift and loader experience, preferred
- Knowledge of blending, fluid bed dryer operation, sieving and granulation processes, preferred
- Prompt, regular and predictable attendance
- The ability to stand, stoop, bend, lift, walk, climb stairs, ladders and catwalks up to 60 feet as required.
- The ability to work in varied outdoor environments (cold, hot, dry, dusty, rainy)
- General understanding of good manufacturing practices, including machine set up and start up and ability to identify and resolve basic processing issues.
- Ability to properly use hand tools
- Basic math skills and use of calculator
- Compensation: $19.30 - $25.94 / hr
- Local site plan incentive target of 5%
