Machine Operator - Day Shift

Job Summary
Operate production machines safely while reading blueprints and following standard work guides, training procedures, and acceptance criteria. Use hand tools to execute tasks according to build boards and Kanban system requirements. Report inconsistencies or defects in materials, products, or equipment immediately. Maintain a positive atmosphere by collaborating with customers, suppliers, co-workers, and management. Adhere to Environmental, Health, and Safety procedures and complete job-specific training to support strategic objectives. This day shift role runs from 6:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday with occasional Friday overtime. Steffes emphasizes teamwork, integrity, and safety as core values.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic computer knowledge (Windows, email, internet, etc.)
- Written and verbal communication, math, reading, and spelling skills
- Good math and visualization skills
- An acceptable combination of education and experience
- Must have the ability to lift 70 pounds from floor to waist, carry 50 pounds, and push and/or pull up to 100 pounds
- Must have the ability to climb ladders and/or stairs
- Stooping, crouching, kneeling, and bending
- Handling, feeling, and gripping
- Visual acuity
- Learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, make timely decisions in the context of a workflow, ability to communicate with visitors, ability to complete tasks in situations that have a speed or productivity quota
