Job Summary
Machine Operator needed for 1st and 2nd shift at Erie, PA. Full-time role in a steel-manufacturing environment requiring prior machining experience. Responsibilities include setting up and removing workpieces from machines, using calipers/micrometers/dial indicators and gauges to verify tolerances, performing in-process inspections and adjusting offsets, securing workpieces on machines, reading blueprints and work orders to determine procedures, recognizing tooling types (facemill, drill, taps, etc.), and lifting up to 50 pounds. Requires ability to read/interpret documents and blueprints, knowledge of tooling speeds/feeds, and experience with crane and forklift operations. Competitive benefits offered.
Required Qualifications
- Prior machining experience
- Knowledge of addition, subtraction, fractions, decimals and calculate tooling speeds/feeds
- Crane and forklift experience
- Ability to read and understand documents and blueprints
- Ability to use hand tools (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, tape measure, etc.)
- Proficiently use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators and gauges to ensure conformance of specified tolerances
- Ability to perform in-process inspections at a machine and adjust various offsets to ensure conformance of workpieces as required
- Position and secure workpieces on machines using measuring instruments, holding devices, hand tools, and cranes
- Study blueprints, lay outs, sketches, and work orders to determine tolerances and work procedures
- Ability to recognize tooling types -- facemill, drill, taps, etc.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds to insert tooling, materials, and use lifting devices
