Job Summary
Operate and maintain landfill site plant in a busy operation, follow safety rules, and work with supervision as required. Responsibilities include daily maintenance and plant checks, adhering to the site traffic management plan, maintaining bunds, signage, and roadways for safe operation, reporting defects and environmental issues, using two-way radio to communicate with customers and colleagues, and contributing to health and safety through toolbox talks and near-miss reporting. The role requires CPCS or equivalent training to operate landfill plant, ability to work unsupervised or under instruction, and readiness to perform manual handling and environmental control tasks. Saturday working is required.
Required Qualifications
- CPCS or equivalent standard training to operate all landfill plant
- Ability to carry out essential daily maintenance of site plant
- Good time keeping and ability to read and understand simple information
- Write simple defect reports and near-miss reports
- Ability to communicate verbally in English
- Resides within a reasonable distance of the site
- Willingness to work Saturdays
