Job Summary
Machine Operator needed to install, maintain, and repair buried fiber and copper services in the field. You’ll locate buried facilities, operate and drive company vehicles with trailers and machinery, perform manual excavation with a shovel, and provide temporary repairs to low voltage utilities and related systems. Responsibilities include coordinating with customers, utilities, and government agencies; following safety practices and manufacturer specifications; reading and interpreting simple instructions; and completing on-the-job or classroom training. The role requires lifting up to 120 pounds, operating various machines/tools, and working outside in all weather. Training and enjoyment of career growth are offered, with a starting salary around $51k/year and a range up to approximately $56.9k/year, plus benefits including health coverage, retirement plans, paid time off, holidays, tuition reimbursement, and more.
Required Qualifications
- Light commercial driver’s license or equivalent
- DOT medical card
- Complete on-the-job and/or classroom training as required
- Lift and move objects up to 120 pounds
- Ability to work outside in all kinds of weather
- Desire to work Monday through Friday with a shift length of 8hrs
- Ability to work mandatory overtime and holidays as service conditions require
