Job Summary
Operate and maintain field equipment to install, repair, and reconnect buried low-voltage utilities. Locate buried facilities near the route of buried wire, operate company vehicle and trailer, perform manual excavation, and provide repairs to utilities and sprinkler systems. Read simple instructions, adhere to safety standards, and participate in ongoing paid training. Role involves outdoors work, potential travel/out-of-region assignments, and coordination with customers, utilities, and government agencies. Compensation includes weekly pay and extensive benefits; starting salary guidance indicates competitive annual earnings with room for growth based on geography and experience.
Required Qualifications
- Light commercial driver’s license or equivalent required, depending on state law
- DOT medical card
- Ability to work Monday through Friday with an 8-hour shift
- Willingness to work mandatory overtime and holidays as service conditions require
- Ability to work outdoors in all kinds of weather
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 120 pounds
- Ability to use computers/hand-held devices to update work status
- Demonstrate competency in training requirements during probation
- Previous operating experience with similar equipment is desirable
- Read and interpret simple instructions
- Follow established safety practices and procedures
